Will NFT become the prime factor in encouraging digital immortality? The short answer is not yet. The frenzied market of NFT is unconventional right now to predict the future. We cannot deny the uncertainty of the market which most traditional artists fear. Most importantly, the competition is tough to sell million dollars NFTs in the digital space.
Competition
No doubt that few artists have sold worth million dollars NFTs but the same does not go with every artist. It is hard to make your way into this novel technology if you lack a connection with a larger audience. Marketing is the key to selling NFT collections this well.
Mainstream media has covered the successful NFT projects, for example, Beeple’s NFT artwork ‘Everyday: The First 5000 Days’ was sold for 69 million dollars. The highest price of NFT sold till now is ‘Merge’, created by the anonymous artist Pak who sold it for 91.8 million dollars. These all indeed sound like a symphony to the ear but in reality not every artist can sell their NFT worth this much. Especially, new artists and creators who have just started their NFT journey.
Cost for minting
Another big problem is the cost that popular NFTs charge while minting and trading NFTs. During transactions, every NFT marketplace charges at least a few percent of transactions.
